Sign
language interpretation is more than a profession, it is a bridge that connects

professional sign language interpreting and Deaf inclusion in Nigeria are often
overlooked.
To
contribute to this conversation, I sat down with Daniel Christian,
Chairperson of the Association of Sign Language Interpreters of Nigeria
(ASLIN), Akwa Ibom State Chapter, for an in-depth discussion about the
upcoming ASLIN South-South Zonal Conference 2026 and the broader issues
shaping sign language interpretation, inclusion, advocacy, and leadership in
Nigeria.
While the
conference served as the starting point of our discussion, the conversation
